Yes, however I think we should not insist on the possible
76 |
misunderstandings in our communication/discussion, but focus on the
77 |
good parts, questions will come afterwise (and that's good too):
78 |
79 |
- it's great, for everyone, because Mageia is a strong platform;
80 |
Mandriva will benefit from it for their server product; and Mageia
81 |
will benefit from it from possible Mandriva contributions;
82 |
- it shows that Mageia has reached quite a milestone;
83 |
- it's not revolutionary (Mageia is expected to be used for
84 |
derivative projects), but it's cool to see Mandriva acknowledge what
85 |
we did, in some way;
86 |
- of course, this does not impact how the project is governed,
87 |
because it's unrelated.
88 |
89 |
If we keep on insisting at first on the potential misunderstandings,
90 |
people will focus on that. And the core news is not about potential
91 |
mishaps, but about a company that is using technology from a open
92 |
source project for their own products.
93 |
94 |
Of course, if people raise questions, and only then, it will be a good
95 |
time to reassure everyone. It's better to do it in this order, because
96 |
it will let us know what are exactly the concerns of people out there,
97 |
instead of guessing about these.

103 |
104 |
Right. The privacy of the info is because the move is on Mandriva's
105 |
part, not ours.
